Top mobile carriers in the U.S. are introducing Reverse Ad Ring Back Tones (Reverse Ad-RBTs).
Reverse Ad-RBT is a service in which subscribers hear an advertising jingle instead of hearing the traditional ringing tone when placing an outbound call. In addition to being compensated for subscribing to this service, the subscriber will have control and freedom over the types of Ad-RBTs that are played.

Example:

Subscriber Johnny is interested in electronics and games. He places a call to his best friend, and while waiting for his friend to answer, Johnny listens to a promotion from Best Buy instead of the traditional ringing tone. Johnny’s friend answers the call and the Ad-RBT stops playing.
